What we do

Three disciplines, one continuous engagement

A hospital’s ICT is not a package bought at the end of construction. It is designed alongside the building, procured against the medical brief, and proven before the first patient arrives. We stay with the project across all three stages.

01

Hospital ICT infrastructure design

High-availability wired and wireless networks with built-in redundancy, segmented for clinical, administrative and guest traffic. Server rooms and telecommunication rooms planned for cooling, UPS backup and physical security — with MCMC submissions handled on your behalf.

02

Hospital systems planning & procurement

Functional requirements for HIS, EMR, PACS, RIS, LIS, PhIS and CCIS, interconnected through HL7 and FHIR. Medical equipment integration coordinated with your equipment planners, then written into tender specifications and evaluated against preset criteria.

03

Implementation project management

Work supervision and configuration during construction, followed by network performance validation, medical device connectivity checks, integration testing, staff training and handover documentation — then supervision through the defect liability period.

Our origin

Where our expertise began

Our founders came out of the Hospital Putrajaya development and construction project, prior to year 2000. A few years before Inter Virtual was formed, they were part of the project team that designed, planned and implemented the Total Hospital Information Systems (THIS) there, in the design and project management role. Inter Virtual’s own first engagement on the hospital followed in 2000, managing the software vendors through the two-year warranty maintenance period.

We then developed the design concept and the technical and integration specifications for the THIS hospitals that followed across the country, and provided consulting and implementation leadership for major hospital developments including the Sarawak International Medical Centre and the Women and Children Hospital of Hospital Kuala Lumpur, now Hospital Tunku Azizah.

Why bring us in

Delivering a hospital takes more than installing technology

It requires an experienced understanding of clinical workflows, data security, regulatory compliance and future-proof infrastructure. Our involvement reduces implementation risk, ensures system interoperability, and contributes to a fully functional healthcare environment — so the hospital can get on with delivering patient care.

Clinical understanding

Requirements translated from the Medical Brief, not from a generic IT template.

Technical expertise

Network, data centre and systems design taken to tender-ready specification.

Regulatory knowledge

MCMC submissions, CGSO requirements, MOH guidelines and NACSA security standards.

Design-team coordination

Close work with architects, medical planners, equipment vendors and contractors.

Planning a hospital project?

Bring us in early. Establishing the ICT scope and costing at design stage is what keeps the technology within budget and out of the critical path.
